For many people, the hardest part of recovery is not the therapy itself but the exposure that comes with it: a waiting room, a shared gym, a clinic schedule that everyone can see. Private in-home occupational therapy removes all of that. Karina comes to you, the work happens in your own space, and there is no one else in the room.
Discretion is built into how the practice works. Care happens in your home, there is no waiting room, and the practice does not publish client names or testimonials. Every plan begins with a complimentary, confidential phone consultation, so you can ask questions and decide what feels right before anything else happens.
Because there is no clinic schedule to work around, visits can be planned around your household's routine rather than the other way around. That matters most for people with demanding work, frequent travel, or a household that already runs on a tight calendar. It also matters for people whose energy is limited by illness or surgery, who may do far better in a calm, familiar setting than after a trip across town.
Recovery rarely involves one person. Family members, household staff, private nurses and caregivers often want to help but are unsure how. Karina includes them where you wish, teaching safe ways to assist, cue and support without taking over what you can still do for yourself. She is also glad to coordinate with your physician and any other providers, so that everyone is giving you consistent guidance. Occupational therapy works alongside your medical team and never replaces it.
Many of the homes in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood and Pacific Palisades are wonderful to live in and demanding to move through: long distances between rooms, several levels, steep outdoor access and large bathrooms. An in-home assessment looks at how you actually use the space, then suggests practical, discreet changes that respect the design of the house. Our article on home safety for large, multi-level and hillside homes explains the approach.
Private in-home occupational therapy is especially helpful for people who are:
If you coordinate care for someone else, such as a concierge physician, geriatric care manager, private nurse, estate manager or family office, Karina welcomes your call. A short conversation about the person's needs and the home is usually enough to decide whether private occupational therapy is a good fit and how to involve the rest of the team.
